Our cottages are nearby to the River Trent.  

Crossing Cottage is in the small hamelet of Staythorpe. 

The area is ideal for walking and cycling with many marked footpaths and bridleways including the Trent Way .

In the nearby villages and towns there are golf courses, leisure centres with swimming pools and a full range of sporting activities, horse riding and boat trips along the river.

There are a range of family activities and attractions .

The race course at Southwell with its all weather track hosts racing across the year. 

The Roman City of Lincoln with its castle and museums  and the wonderfull Catherdral is 19 miles away.

Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre, Home to the Major Oak is just 15miles.

Southwell Minster is a minster and cathedral, in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England. It is situated six miles from Newark-on-Trent and thirteen miles from Mansfield. It is the seat of the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. Dating from Roman times it boasts a dramatic history from Anglo Saxon times and particularly during the civil war.

Almost every childhood fantasy, including cowboys, fairytales, Robin Hood, and Santa Claus, is represented at Sundown Adventureland.
